Principal Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead strategic build-vs-buy engineering for internal platforms.
• Architect and deliver Elastic-native IT platforms using Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Elastic AI.
• Own architecture standards, API design, observability, and security posture.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, Platform Engineering, and Finance to replace SaaS with Elastic
• Build reference architectures and contribute to product strategy through implementation learnings.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering; at least 3 years as a principal/lead engineer.
• Deep Elasticsearch expertise: data modelling, query design, performance tuning, production ops.
• Strong full-stack capability across backend to frontend (e.g., pipelines, dashboards, React).
• Proven track record shipping commercial software or platform systems.
• Architectural judgment to decide build vs buy with data-backed rationale.
• Excellent written communication; architecture decisions and standards docs.
