📋 Description

• Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to produce a leading vector database offering with speed and
• Contribute to Elasticsearch full-time, build new search features and fix bugs, possibly invent new
• Work with a globally distributed team focused on vector search capabilities of Elasticsearch.
• Be an expert on vector similarity in Elasticsearch to support search relevance and guide
• Collaborate with community members on issues and pull requests, sometimes triaging and handing off
• Write idiomatic modern Java; Elasticsearch is largely Java.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with vector similarity techniques on large-scale search platforms or academic research
• Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases using algorithms like HNSW or
• Strong core Java skills and familiarity with standard data structures, concurrency, and lambdas.
• Ability to work autonomously from inception to completion, including technical design and
