Product Counsel

📋 Description

• Act as a day-to-day legal advisor to product and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Advise on design, structuring, and regulatory implications of consumer financial products.
• Research and apply federal/state consumer financial regulations (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, EFTA, UDAAP).
• Provide guidance on marketing and communications under TCPA and CAN-SPAM.
• Support bank-partnered and non-bank product structures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to embed legal guardrails without slowing innovation.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active California bar member or registered in-house counsel in California.
• 5-8 years of legal experience in consumer financial services/fintech or related regulatory practice.
• Working knowledge of federal consumer finance statutes (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, EFTA).
• Exposure to credit-building, earned wage access, or bank-partnered payments.
• Ability to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and translate research into practical
