Security Control Assessor Representative (SCAR)

📋 Description

• On-site at Hill AFB in Ogden, UT; 5 days/week
• Collaborate with SCARs, SCAs, ISSMs, PMs, and AO reps to obtain/maintain ATOs
• Review, assess, and advise throughout the RMF process for assigned programs
• Ensure compliance with DoD/Agency security requirements and RMF steps
• Develop/review SSPs, SARs, and POA&Ms; analyze control effectiveness
• Provide vulnerability and risk guidance to AOs and stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant work experience (ISSOs/ISSMs/SCAs/SCARs or similar)
• Mastery of RMF with knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and its application
• Technical expertise: Windows/Linux OS hardening (STIGs), networks, firewall, IDS/IPS, cloud
• Experience with vulnerability scanning (ACAS/Tenable.sc/Nessus), SCAP/STIG tools, and log
• Strong ability to develop/review SSPs, SARs, and POA&Ms; assess residual risk for AOs
• Bachelors degree in a related field or 3+ years of equivalent experience
