Senior Application Database Engineer

📋 Description

• You will own our database infrastructure as Heidi scales globally (MongoDB Atlas today).
• Hands-on role at the intersection of schema design, query performance, IaC, and platform
• Role spans multi-region data architecture decisions across AWS/Azure.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on schema design and performance.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of MongoDB production experience (Atlas).
• Design schemas around access patterns; avoid relational defaults.
• Deep knowledge of indexing, queries, aggregations, and MongoDB basics.
• Experience with Amazon RDS or relational databases; SQL skills.
• Python for scripting and migrations; Terraform for infrastructure.
• Experience with cross-region migrations and private connectivity.
