Senior Application Database Engineer

📋 Description

• Own MongoDB Atlas clusters across prod/stage/dev in multi-region AWS/Azure
• Lead schema and data model design: embedding, referencing, denormalization, aggregation
• Own index strategy, query performance analysis, and aggregation pipelines
• Evaluate DB tech decisions: MongoDB vs relational stores like Amazon RDS
• Design and execute data migrations; write Python tooling for pipelines
• Manage Atlas infrastructure with Terraform; private endpoints and access control

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of production MongoDB experience, including Atlas clusters
• Design schemas around access patterns, not relational conventions
• Deep understanding of indexing, query planning, aggregations, and MongoDB ops
• Experience with Amazon RDS or relational DBs; schema design and query optimisation
• Strong SQL skills: optimisation, indexing, and relational schema design
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and migration tooling
