Senior Data Scientist, Systems Performance

📋 Description

• Lead development of evaluation frameworks for autonomous systems using data-driven metrics.
• Collaborate with Safety and Systems Eng to map metrics to SOTIF/ISO 21448 and launch readiness.
• Ensure metrics are reliable enough to inform safety cases and launch readiness.
• Monitor drift and data quality in metrics over time to keep the evaluation ecosystem trustworthy.
• Apply data-backed statistical methods for simulation and on-road data.
• Develop new metrics and analyze AV performance data; mentor teammates.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience solving complex problems with large datasets.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Robotics, Physics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field; MS/PhD preferred.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data analysis libraries.
• Experience applying advanced statistical and ML methods to large datasets.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects from problem definition to actionable results.
• Excellent communication and collaboration; able to explain findings to engineering partners and leadership; eager to learn new techniques.
