Senior Director of Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead the Applied AI organization inside Roblox Build for generative AI systems at scale.
• Own model strategy, routing, adaptation, and evaluation across CodeGen, LayoutGen, and related
• Drive AI systems for creator tools, 3D scene generation, and code-generation tasks like Luau.
• Ensure continuous feedback from creator outcomes into training data and release decisions.
• Collaborate across AI research, production engineering, and platform teams to align objectives.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in machine learning/AI with 5+ years in senior technical leadership shipping generative
• Deep technical grounding in applied AI areas: RLHF, distillation, model routing/adaptation, agentic
• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams spanning research scientists and production engineers.
• Strong ability to build eval frameworks, benchmarks, and continuous experimentation infrastructure.
• Ability to make principled tradeoffs and communicate reasoning clearly in complex orgs.
• Genuine interest in AI-assisted 3D world creation and domain-specific code generation.
