Senior Employment Counsel

📋 Description

• Serve as primary legal advisor to People team across hiring, performance management, terminations
• Own employment disputes from pre-litigation to litigation; manage outside counsel and strategy.
• Oversee internal investigations on harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
• Ensure compliance across a multistate U.S. workforce with emphasis on California law.
• Translate legal developments into practical recommendations to reduce risk.
• Support privacy, information security, and other non-employment matters as needed.

🎯 Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school; active bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8–10+ years of employment-law experience in counseling and disputes.
• Strong experience with non-exempt employee populations and California employment law.
• Experience directing outside counsel and resolving disputes; in-house preferred.
• Experience advising on equity and executive compensation.
• Excellent communication; ability to advise non-legal stakeholders and work autonomously.
