Senior Engineer I, Smart Switch Software Development

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux firmware for NETGEAR smart switch products.
• Own hardware abstraction layer and kernel modules for platform services.
• Implement and optimize L2/L3 protocols (STP, IGMP snooping, LLDP, LACP, 802.1X, VLANs).
• Contribute to multi-unit stacking, cross-unit configuration, and firmware upgrade coordination.
• Collaborate across time zones; mentor junior engineers and participate in releases.

🎯 Requirements

• B.Tech/B.E or M.Tech/M.E in CS/Electronics or related field.
• 8+ years embedded software experience, 3+ years networking/telecom.
• Strong C for embedded Linux (kernel modules, user-space daemons).
• Experience with two+ L2/L3 protocols and Linux kernel module development.
• ARM64 or MIPS cross-compilation toolchains; Buildroot/OpenWrt/Yocto familiarity.
• Debugging skills (GDB, strace, tcpdump/Wireshark); AI-assisted development experience.
