Senior Mainframe Storage and Backup Administrator

📋 Description

• Administer IBM DS8000/DS8950F storage and related z/OS storage infrastructure.
• Manage GDPS Metro/Global Mirror and HyperSwap replication for high availability.
• Administer TS7700/TS7780 virtual tape systems and clustering.
• Design and maintain mainframe backup and recovery strategies, including DR drills.
• Lead capacity planning, performance monitoring, and regular operational reporting.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate cross-team knowledge sharing.

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years of combined higher education and/or relevant experience.
• 7+ years in large-scale enterprise mainframe storage administration.
• Expertise with IBM DS8000/DS8950F, GDPS, TS7700/TS7780.
• Deep knowledge of CA storage products (Disk, Allocate, View/Deliver, Vantage).
• Familiarity with DFSMS, z/OS storage architecture (DFP, SMS, VSAM RLS).
• Ability to document complex environments and mentor others.
