Senior Mechanical Engineer, Solar & Deployables

📋 Description

• Design deployable structures for Muon's solar arrays from concept to qualification
• Own structural, dynamic, and thermoelastic analyses for margins
• Collaborate with mechanisms and photovoltaics leads and structural analysis group
• Develop design and analysis practices from prototype to production
• Support deployment testing with gravity offload and environmental tests
• Deliver design packages and analysis reports for reviews

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in high-reliability hardware; 5+ years in structural analysis
• Proven track record designing precision mechanical hardware
• Strong structural FEA experience: static, modal, random vibration
• Experience analyzing deployment dynamics and margins
• Correlate analysis models to test data (modal surveys, vibration)
• Expert CAD skills (SolidWorks) with drawings, GD&T, tolerances
