Senior Mechanical Engineer - Spacecraft Components and Systems

📋 Description

• Own the mechanical direction from requirements to launch vehicle installation
• Collaborate with structural, thermal, electrical teams to meet mission needs
• Work across full lifecycle of electromechanical hardware
• Hybrid role with on-site work in San Jose three days/week
• Develop, build, and test mission specific components and payloads
• Lead mechanical portion of internal/external design reviews

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in designing, building, testing high-reliability hardware
• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) for component/assembly design
• Mastery of drawings, GD&T, BOMs, FAIs, tolerances, mass budgets
• Experience with ECO/DCO processes and PLM systems
• Experience leading mechanical design for complex electromechanical systems
