Senior Project Accountant I

📋 Description

• Manage a portfolio of projects from setup through closeout, maintaining accurate financial records.
• Review and interpret contract terms to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare timely client invoices, revenue recognition adjustments, and supporting docs.
• Monitor project costs, revenue, AR, consultant and sub costs to identify issues.
• Deliver reliable financial reporting and support month/year-end close for projects.
• Process contract amendments and change orders, monitor funding limits, maintain audit-ready docs.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive project accounting experience in engineering, environmental, architecture
• Experience managing full financial lifecycle of projects: setup, billing, revenue recognition
• Experience with public sector contracts and compliance for municipal, county, state, federal, or
• Strong knowledge of contract structures: T&M, Lump Sum, Cost Plus, Unit Price, Not-to-Exceed.
• Advanced Excel skills: PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis.
