Senior Python Engineer (Contract)

📋 Description

• Take ownership of backend services from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed backend services with Python/Django.
• Architect distributed systems to support millions of users with low latency.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps to ship features on timelines.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers via code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Own APIs, data pipelines, Kafka, and caching infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years Python backend development with ownership and delivery.
• Django experience with asyncio asynchronous programming.
• Production experience with Apache Kafka.
• Distributed systems experience (microservices or similar).
• Docker; Kubernetes experience a plus; cloud (AWS preferred).
• Proficient with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL; NoSQL a plus.
