Senior Python Engineer (Contract)

📋 Description

• Take ownership of backend services from design through deployment and maintenance
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Django
• Architect distributed systems to support millions of users with low latency
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to ship features fast
• Lead and mentor junior engineers via code reviews and architecture discussions
• Own APIs, data pipelines, and Kafka-backed messaging infrastructure

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Python backend development with ownership and delivery
• Django experience with asyncio for asynchronous programming
• Production experience with Apache Kafka
• Strong distributed systems experience (microservices or similar)
• Experience deploying and managing containerized applications (Docker); Kubernetes a plus
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers
