Senior Ruby on Rails Developer (IoT Integrations)

📋 Description

• Own backend architecture for Ruby on Rails apps and APIs serving connected-device fleets.
• Design IoT communication layers using MQTT, WebSockets, CoAP, HTTP, or similar protocols.
• Architect high-volume telemetry ingestion, queues, event processing, and real-time pipelines.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy with IoT platforms, message brokers, and data stores; communicate
• Design scalable DB schemas for time-series, telemetry, and event-heavy workloads.
• Integrate cloud IoT services (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub) incl. provisioning, certificates, OTA

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering; at least 6 years Ruby on Rails.
• Proven IoT integrations experience at production scale.
• Deep knowledge of MQTT or similar device messaging; scale experience.
• Strong API architecture, versioning, contracts, maintainability, scalability.
• Extensive PostgreSQL or MySQL experience; query optimization and tuning.
• Redis, Sidekiq, and distributed background jobs knowledge.
