Senior Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Work on data layer for vulnerability and dependency management and move toward modular services.
• Design and develop systems that ingest, store, index, and query security report data with
• Contribute to GitLab’s Ruby on Rails apps and newer services in Go or Rust where appropriate.
• Own components from design through delivery within GitLab’s release cycles.
• Collaborate with product, design, frontend, and engineering partners; support reviews and
• Apply a security mindset to design, including handling of malicious/vulnerable packages.

🎯 Requirements

• Professional backend engineering experience delivering production features at scale.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL experience with query profiling, indexing, and schema design.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Go, or Python; comfortable in Rails day-to-day.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and guide peers through complex work.
• Self-directed with proactive communication and progress updates.
• Experience with security tooling for vulnerability triage/remediation or vulnerability/dependency
