Senior Software Engineer - Machine Learning Platform

📋 Description

• Build and optimize Upstart’s ML and simulation platform for scale and decisioning.
• Develop backend services and APIs to support ML models.
• Create self-service tooling for feature registration and model deployment.
• Deliver data and feature infrastructure behind every model, incl. storage and serving.
• Design simulation systems reflecting production environments.
• Collaborate with ML, Engineering, Product, and Data Eng teams; mentor others.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Backend services and APIs experience.
• Distributed systems or large-scale data processing (Spark, Databricks, Ray).
• Experience with ML platform production paths (training pipelines, model serving, feature pipelines).
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, Databricks, and AWS.
• Growth mindset; ability to translate complex requirements for technical and non-technical partners.
