Senior Software Engineer (Typescript), AI Clients: Duo CLI

📋 Description

• Own design and evolution of GitLab Duo CLI features from problem definition to rollout.
• Build interactive terminal experiences in TypeScript with careful command design.
• Improve reliability, observability, and performance of the CLI.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineers across Developer Clients and AI Clients stage.
• Mentor teammates and uphold code quality, security, and developer experience.
• Contribute to IDE extensions (JetBrains Kotlin, VS Code TS) when shared work calls for it.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript; interest in developer tooling and CLI design.
• Experience building/maintaining command-line tools or developer-facing tooling.
• Experience owning technical problems end to end, with architectural trade-offs.
• Clear written and spoken English; comfortable in fully remote, asynchronous environments.
• Alignment with GitLab values and inclusive culture.
• Experience with IDE extensions (JetBrains Kotlin or VS Code) and knowledge of LSP is helpful but
