Senior Staff Aerostructures Design Engineer (R4721)

📋 Description

• Lead design and development of structural components for Shield AI’s next-gen UAV platform
• Own the structural design lifecycle from concept to drawing release
• Use FEA tools for linear/nonlinear analysis, stress, and margins
• Collaborate with aero, propulsion, avionics, payload, and manufacturing teams
• Support material selection for composites and aluminum alloys
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews for structural systems

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 10+ years in aircraft structural design with ownership of components/systems
• Deep understanding of composite and metallic structures
• CAD tools: NX, CATIA, SolidWorks; FEA: ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN
• Experience stress, fatigue analysis and design optimization
• DFMA, GD&T, tolerance stackups, structural layout principles
