Senior Staff Aerostructures Design Engineer (R5072)

📋 Description

• Lead design and development of structural components for Shield AI’s next-gen UAV platform
• Own the structural design lifecycle from concept to drawing release
• Use FEA tools to perform linear and nonlinear analysis under loads
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, payload, and manufacturing
• Lead material selection for composites, aluminum alloys, and advanced manufacturing
• Participate in design reviews and verification planning for structural systems

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 10+ years in aircraft structural design with ownership of components/systems
• Deep understanding of composite and metallic structures
• Expertise in CAD tools (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN)
• Experience with stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and design optimization
• Strong knowledge of DFMA, GD&T, tolerance stackups, and structural layout principles
