Senior Staff Engineer - Body, Closures & Chassis

📋 Description

• Serve as the program and technical lead for Body, Closures & Chassis across internal and supplier teams.
• Oversee BOM integrity, approve critical build processes, and drive quality/cost initiatives in the supply chain.
• Develop program schedules and partner with suppliers, quality, procurement, service, manufacturing, and engineering teams to close open issues and ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify program progress, engineering challenges, and risks; lead strategic mitigation plans across the organization.
• Lead root-cause analysis and tracking of critical build/design issues impacting performance, quality, and production readiness.
• Influence system designs to optimize performance, cost, quality, manufacturability, and serviceability via top-level design reviews, DFMEAs, validation, and mock-builds.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.
• 12+ years in automotive engineering with focus on Body/Closures/Chassis design and PM.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6, PLM/BOM, FMEA/FTA, 8D/root-cause analysis, and PM tools (JIRA, Confluence, Polarion).
• Experience designing for crash, NVH, reliability, strength, and corrosion.
• End-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication across all levels; able to travel globally.
