Senior Staff Engineer, Flight Controls - X-BAT (R4812)

📋 Description

• Design flight control system across all flight phases including allocation strategies for
• Lead development of high-fidelity 6DOF simulation environments and accurate pre-flight predictions
• Define verification strategy with linear analysis, Monte Carlo, disturbance testing, and HIL
• Diagnose and resolve simulation-to-flight mismatches and modeling gaps
• Support flight test operations, enabling rapid iteration between flights
• Integrate control systems with propulsion, aero, actuation, sensors, state estimation and autonomy

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in flight controls / GNC on real flight vehicles
• Experience with control allocation design for over-actuated systems with saturation/failure handling
• Strong background in Flight dynamics and 6DOF simulation
• Control theory and nonlinear systems knowledge
• V&V cycles experience: pre-flight prediction, Monte Carlo, post-flight analysis
• Proficiency in C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and/or Python with real-time deployment
