📋 Description

• Scale the infrastructure behind Notion’s database block.
• Improve database performance and reliability for higher concurrency.
• Collaborate across infrastructure and product to build a platform for Notion teams.
• Work on database load performance, microservices, and high-volume writes from agents.
• Partner with senior engineers to evolve Collections as a platform.
• Role can be based in San Francisco or New York City with in-person Anchor Days.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong backend fundamentals with focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Curiosity about distributed systems and microservices; ability to reason from first principles.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, or ability to ramp quickly.
• Grit in technical problem solving and the ability to iterate to improve metrics.
• Self-guided learning style using docs, code, and AI to build context.
