Sourcing Specialist, Space Lasers (Starlink)

📋 Description

• Manage sourcing across mechanical and optical commodities for Starlink satellites
• Develop supply base domestically and internationally for rapid design iteration
• Collaborate with suppliers to implement sourcing and cost strategies for existing platforms and new
• Own supply continuity, capacity planning, and production readiness for rapid programs
• Lead supplier negotiations to ensure cost, lead times, and commercial terms support SpaceX interests

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years in purchasing, procurement, material planning, or supply chain
• 3+ years procurement in direct commodities; experience with machined/optical/photonic components
• Experience reading technical drawings, data sheets, BOMs, and related files
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing, LTAs, and drive cost reduction while maintaining quality
• Experience with NPI and mass production transitions; strong analytical and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 20%; onsite work required in Bastrop, TX
