Sr. Optical Engineer (Starfall)

📋 Description

• Drive system architecture for a visible-camera and IR navigation sensor
• Lead optical design, analysis, validation of free-space optics
• Define requirements for high-performance optical/IR sensors
• Lead trades across optical, IR, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing
• Develop hardware for high-rate manufacturing and testing tools
• Mentor engineers; set technical direction for the team

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s in optical engineering, physics or related
• 5+ years optics/photonics/imaging/IR sensing experience
• 5+ years programming in C++, MATLAB, and/or Python
• Preferred: Master/PhD; Zemax experience; optics test equipment know-how
• Experience with cameras, IR detectors, and optical testing
• Python scripting and Linux proficiency
