Sr. Staff Thermo-Mechanical Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead thermo-mechanical analysis for advanced photonics packaging.
• Develop FE models for wafer- and unit-level packaging.
• Drive design/ material solutions to meet thermal, optical, and reliability goals.
• Coordinate lab prototyping and vendor experiments to validate designs.
• Automate simulations with Python and MATLAB workflows.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders across teams.

🎯 Requirements

• MS or PhD in Mechanical Eng, Materials Science, or related field.
• Deep FEM experience with Ansys, Abaqus, or equivalent.
• Multi-physics simulation experience: thermal-structural coupling.
• Packaging failure modes knowledge: solder fatigue, delamination, CTE stress.
• Experience with wafer-level and unit-level assembly processes.
• Python and/or MATLAB for automation and data analysis.
