Sr. Welding Engineer (Starship Components)

📋 Description

• Develop and qualify weld processes across EBW, Laser, GTAW, orbital welding
• Support production on full-scale welded assemblies; guide technicians and welders
• Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing for root cause analysis
• Improve welded designs with design, tooling, automation and test engineers
• Set up welding qualification campaigns; interpret mechanical testing and NDE results
• Work with NDE personnel to interpret weld quality and develop NDE techniques

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• 5+ years in hands-on welding fabrication/manufacturing/testing
• Advanced degree in welding engineering, materials science, aerospace engineering, or physics
• Expertise in laser, electron beam, OTW, GTAW, and GMAW welding
• Experience with stainless steel and nickel alloys
• CNC/robot programming for automated welding; travel up to 25% and extended hours
