Staff Aerostructures Design Engineer (R5159)

📋 Description

• Design and develop structural components and assemblies for Shield AI’s next-generation UAV platform
• Execute all stages of design lifecycle: conceptual development, CAD modeling, detailed design
• Perform hand calculations for stress/strain with limited FEA under guidance
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, payload, manufacturing for system integration
• Support structural validation: coupon testing, subcomponent testing, system verification
• Generate design docs, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports per aerospace standards

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 8+ years of aircraft structural design experience
• CAD tools: NX, CATIA, SolidWorks
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stackups, DFMA
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to obtain a S//SAR clearance desired
