Staff Applied Scientist (Distribution Center Solutions)

📋 Description

• Set technical direction for core replenishment R&D — forecasting & inventory optimization
• Model inventory decay, promotions, price elasticity, and uncertainty
• Drive changes to core systems from research to production with scalable code
• Lead R&D for new product and business challenges
• Mentor scientists, set standards for rigor, and review designs
• Push AI capabilities in products and scientist workflows

🎯 Requirements

• MS or PhD in OR, IE, CS, EE, or quantitative field; or equivalent exp
• MS: 8+ years; PhD: 4+ years of industry exp
• Experience researching/building large-scale decision-making systems under uncertainty
• Experience in inventory optimization, supply chain, forecasting, or related fields
• Excellent communication; translate requirements into constrained optimization
• Ability to deliver scalable software in Python data stack (numpy/torch/pandas)
