Staff Backend Engineer- Agent Experience (AX)

📋 Description

• Build agent-facing surfaces: API-first provisioning, M2M auth, scoped credentials.
• Own MCP servers and an agent-first CLI for agents and LLMs.
• Harden the agent media path for reliable uploads by non-human callers.
• Make agent behavior measurable with instrumentation and attribution.
• Work across Node.js/TypeScript, Ruby/Rails, and Go in the core platform.
• Ship, measure, iterate with cross-functional teams across Product, Ecosystem, and Discoverability.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years building and operating production backend systems and APIs at scale.
• Strong in Node.js/TypeScript; comfortable with Ruby/Rails and/or Go.
• Strong API and protocol design: OAuth, API keys, versioning, idempotency, rate limiting.
• Genuine curiosity about agents and LLMs and how they're reshaping software.
• Distributed systems and cloud instincts (AWS or equivalent).
• Ownership mindset: scope problems and ship.
• Clear written communication for machine consumers and distributed teams.
