Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design - Launch and Recovery Systems (R4572)

📋 Description

• Lead design, development, and testing of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for next-gen UAS.
• Design mechanical systems for GSE including power units, transport structures, launch &
• Create CAD models, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing and assembly.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fatigue analysis for field-deployed GSE.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and flight operations teams to integrate GSE with
• Perform trade studies to improve portability, ruggedness, and maintainability of support systems.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in mechanical design for aerospace, GSE, or heavy industrial systems.
• CAD expertise (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX or similar) for 3D modeling, drawings, and layouts.
• Strong background in structural analysis, materials, and ruggedized manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing deployable, transportable, field-ready aerospace support equipment.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD design requirements for aerospace GSE.
• Experience with FEA, thermal analysis, and fatigue/lifecycle testing.
