Staff Engineer - Recommendations

📋 Description

• Design and optimize scalable data pipelines, backend services, and APIs for recommendations
• Build data models and schemas for analytical workloads and real-time personalization.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams to capture and make data
• Develop large-scale data processing workflows using Spark and Kafka.
• Advance personalization from basic heuristics to data-backed models.
• Contribute to backend architecture, including REST/WebSocket APIs, caching, queues, and cloud

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in software engineering with focus on data engineering, backend systems, or scalable SaaS
• Proven ETL/ELT data pipeline design and optimization experience.
• Strong SQL skills for analytical workloads and real-time access.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or Beam.
• Experience with cloud platforms at scale (AWS or Google Cloud).
• Programming with Python, JavaScript/Node.js, MongoDB, Redis; ability to work across languages.
