Staff ML Engineer, Perception Research

📋 Description

• Research and develop ML solutions for 3D perception using Camera, LiDAR, and Radar data.
• Collaborate with Waymo engineering/research teams to deploy models and optimize workflows for
• Implement techniques like quantization, pruning, distillation, and efficient attention.
• Build scalable data pipelines for Training & Eval from multiple data sources.
• Design evaluation frameworks for perception models and support large-scale distillation/inference
• Experiment with model partitioning/sharding to improve scalability and efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• PhD or Master’s in CS/ML/Robotics with 4+ years in RL or Foundation Models.
• Experience with scalable, distributed training flows (data parallel, sharding).
• Proficiency in JAX, Flax, and possibly TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Willingness to work with globally distributed inference infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience optimizing training/inference of Transformer architectures.
