Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead architecture and implementation of mixed-criticality embedded virtualization.
• Define how a surgical robot system consolidates RT and non-RT software on shared hardware.
• Own virtualization safety strategy: partitioning, hypervisor tuning, safety posture.
• Coach engineers and drive cross-functional projects across teams.
• Develop observability for timing, utilization, VM health on target hardware.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on technical direction and risk.

🎯 Requirements

• Embedded software architecture design; strong C++ and Python for RT systems.
• From 0 to 1: build/evaluate prototypes to de-risk platform decisions.
• Experience in Linux/QNX: kernel modules, resource managers, POSIX, IPC frameworks.
• FPGAs, hardware accelerators, PCIe, and network stacks; root-cause hardware/software issues.
• Proven leadership; work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication; influence senior leadership; mentoring capability.
