Staff Software Engineer, AI Foundations (AI Agent Optimization)

📋 Description

• Lead agent optimization efforts for Temporal’s AI Foundations team.
• Design tools and mechanisms to optimize token spend and response time while maintaining quality.
• Work with multi-agent architecture, cache policy, and context management topics.
• Collaborate with teams focusing on agentic development and ecosystem integrations.
• Develop features end-to-end with emphasis on reliability and developer experience.
• Contribute to public docs and engage with Temporal developer community.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Proven experience optimizing AI systems using ML and systems techniques.
• Experience with generative AI for agents and coding.
• Fluency in multiple programming languages; ability to learn new ones.
• Deep experience with concurrent programming and safe use of concurrency primitives.
• Experience designing APIs and documenting publicly-available libraries/modules.
