Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Online Storage)

📋 Description

• Drive technical roadmap for Databases (Relational/KeyValue) for mission-critical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and SRE teams to deliver scalable datastore components.
• Build multi-region, horizontally scalable, globally available datastore solutions.
• Create control planes for management, self-service of hundreds of databases, and automation
• Define operational processes, monitoring, runbooks, and on-call readiness to keep systems reliable.
• Advocate design standards and mentor teammates to raise quality and ownership.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale (Python or Kotlin).
• Extensive experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
• 5+ years in relational/distributed SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, TiDB/Vitess); strong DB design, query
• Experience building and operating cloud databases; familiarity with benchmarking, load testing
• Ability to write high quality code and deliver major features or components with execution plans.
• Comfort with ambiguity and moving from low-level details to system architecture.
