Staff Software Engineer, Environments Infrastructure

📋 Description

• Design APIs, frameworks, and abstractions for engineers and researchers
• Own platform layers beneath environments, including the agent runtime
• Build tooling to debug and maintain production environments without infra engineers
• Embed with research teams, rotate into their codebases, and transfer ownership
• Anticipate silent failure modes and prevent them with type safety and invariants
• Drive adoption of new frameworks across the organization

🎯 Requirements

• Deep Python expertise including typing, async, concurrency, and performance
• Strong API and framework design; justify interfaces and drive adoption
• Experience designing/operating stateful distributed systems and failure handling
• Habit of verification; measure and build checks to prove correctness
• Experience in large, evolving or research-style codebases you didn't author
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable with ambiguity
