Staff Software Engineer (.NET)

📋 Description

• Own architecture for .NET infrastructure: builds, tests, and distribution workflows.
• Design automation for building/publishing .NET artifacts (NuGet), with SBOMs and provenance.
• Build internal developer tools (dotnet build, MSBuild tasks, NuGet tooling, CLIs, code generators) at scale.
• Deeply integrate with dotnet projects, NuGet, and artifact repositories; resolve dependency issues in large codebases/monorepos.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to shape the .NET libraries roadmap and outcomes for Chainguard Libraries.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, documentation, and debugging of build and infra issues.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in the .NET ecosystem on build systems, packaging, or tooling.
• Proven experience building MSBuild extensions, NuGet tooling, and CI/CD automation.
• Deep familiarity with building and publishing in .NET (multi-project builds, dependencies, registries).
• Strong background in orchestrating large codebases or monorepos; fix dependency and build failures in production.
• Go for tooling; Docker/Kubernetes, major clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure) with CI/CD.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code.
