Staff Software Engineer (Platform - Access & Authorization)

📋 Description

• Own end-to-end design, implementation, and operation of authentication, authorization, sessions
• Build secure, low-latency Go and gRPC services used across Coinbase’s web, mobile, API, and partner
• Lead technical designs for initiatives like signed authorization tokens, passkeys, biometric
• Partner with product, security, fraud, and infrastructure teams to balance customer conversion

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with Go or similar systems-oriented language
• Experience designing secure APIs, authentication, authorization, session management, trust
• Proficiency with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and data stores like Redis or DynamoDB, with strong
• Track record delivering cross-functional technical designs through production rollout with strong
• Responsible use of generative AI to improve workflows while maintaining human oversight.
