Workshop Manager

📋 Description

• Manage day-to-day operation of Consett workshop, ensuring safe, efficient work to standards
• Lead, mentor and support workshop personnel to utilise resources effectively
• Ensure health and safety compliance across the site
• Carry out hands-on workshop activities: machining, milling, turning, grinding, linishing
• Coordinate workshop activities: booking work into MRF system, housekeeping, maintenance

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in workshop supervisory/foreman roles
• Hands-on machining and engineering knowledge with workshop equipment
• Excellent problem-solving, ownership and decision-making
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications
• Strong communication and ability to mentor and develop others
• Desirable: experience in materials testing, workshop planning, continuous improvement, and workshop
