The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to be responsible for working with the Sales team to bring solutions and value to our customers. The successful candidate will be well versed in the core principles and practices of Data Engineering and Integration, along with higher than surface level knowledge of coding (SQL, Python, etc). This is a small and very important team as you’ll be expected to be resourceful, a selfless team player, and regularly go above and beyond your “day job”. The upside is that this is a highly visible role with unbound growth opportunities

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in the sales process, with an emphasis on technical discovery. 
  • Build and deliver compelling demos to showcase the art of the possible and serve as the product subject matter expert on client calls and in-person meetings.
  • Work with customers and prospects to understand their business objectives and provide solutions built on Nexla’s platform.
  • Perform research and technical investigations to verify that products align with customer specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with additional Nexla technical resources in Product, engineering, CSM, support etc. to help secure the deal.
  • Participate in necessary customer onboarding activities: work closely with CSMs, CSEs, SAs for onboarding, education, workshops, escalation management and other activities to ensure successful customer launch.
  • Own, collect and drive feedback from the field into the product.
    • sections of client RFP/RFIs.
    • Effectively and professionally represent the Nexla to both technical and non-technical audiences; must be willing to take ownership to become intimately familiar with data ecosystem & related solutions, metrics, and trends with a keen ability to relate our solutions as a strategic fit for these needs.
    • Build technical assets such as white papers, blog posts, best practices documents, virtual hands-on labs, and quickstarts to accelerate the adoption of solutions
    • Evangelize solutions and product integrations by speaking at conferences, webinars, and other marketing events
    • Own and manage RFP response process and work cross functionally to complete
What You Bring to Nexla
  • Min. 5+ years years within a pre-sales/post sales customer facing role 
  • Excellent communication skills - being able to connect the dots for partners, prospects and customers on why Nexla over our competitors
  • Deep understanding of data engineering and integration concepts with hands on experience
  • Ability to write code in the programming language of choice, deep understanding on how APIs work, ability to write and optimize SQL.
  • Outstanding presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos
  • Ability to connect a customer’s specific business problems and Nexla’s solutions
Compensation

Compensation will be a mixture of Base Salary and Competitive Variable. This will be determined by overall skills, experience, and location. The base salary range will be $150,000 - $180,000 + competitive variable/commission. The package will also include healthcare coverage related to Medical, Dental, and Vision, 401k, unlimited/flexible PTO. This position is REMOTE with some expected travel.
