About the role:

We're looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee and manage compliance within Settle’s platform, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. This role involves developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization. This role will report to the Chief Compliance Officer.

What you'll do:

  • Compliance Program Development: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compliance program that addresses regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, OFAC, and state-specific lending laws. This includes policies, procedures, and controls to manage and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee, maintain, and update systems for monitoring and reporting on compliance matters, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and regulatory reporting. Ensure timely identification and resolution of compliance issues.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues.
  • Training and Education: Administer training programs on compliance and regulatory matters to ensure that all employees are informed of compliance policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and business objectives. Ensure that these policies are effectively communicated and implemented across the company.
  • Regulatory Examinations and Inquiries: Serve as the point of contact for regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries related to compliance matters. Coordinate internal efforts to respond to regulatory requests and findings.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and key partners compliance teams, including legal, product development, and operations, to ensure that compliance considerations are integrated into business processes.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in compliance roles within the fintech or financial services industry, with a focus on payments and lending. 
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of U.S. financial regulations, including BSA, AML, OFAC, and state-specific lending laws.
  • Compliance Programs: Proven experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance programs.
  • Transaction Monitoring: Expertise in setting up and managing systems for monitoring transactions for compliance with AML and other regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Education: Ability to develop and conduct compliance training programs for employees.
  • Risk Assessment: Skilled in conducting risk assessments and audits to identify compliance risks and deficiencies.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work across departments and with senior management to enforce compliance measures.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to regulatory changes and evolving business needs, providing strategic compliance guidance.
  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Prior in-house and fintech experience is a plus!
Compensation:

This role has an annual starting salary range of $130,000 - $180,000 + equity (6,000) + benefits. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to your individual skills and experience.
