Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT)

📋 Description

• Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed medicines against the prescription, in line with SOPs
• Identify and escalate any discrepancies, near misses, or safety concerns to the responsible
• Check labelling, quantity, strength, expiry dates, and patient details for every item before release
• Maintain accurate records of checks performed, in line with clinical governance and audit
• Contribute to a culture of learning by reporting errors and near misses through the appropriate
• Support continuous improvement of dispensing accuracy processes, flagging recurring issues or risks

🎯 Requirements

• Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification, or Pharmacy Technician qualification with ACT
• Active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Previous experience working in a pharmacy environment (community, online, or dispensing pharmacy
• Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a regulated
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced setting while managing competing
• Confident using IT systems and capable of quickly learning new technologies and software tools.
