Applied AI Engineer

📋 Description

• Design and ship production AI systems used company-wide
• Design customer AI products (e.g., ask.workos.com) and Slack bots
• Build internal tools: agents, automations, workflows
• Work on a unified bot framework and sandboxed harness
• Use LLMs, embeddings, retrieval, and tool calling
• Replace repetitive multi app workflows with AI driven flows

🎯 Requirements

• You have shipped AI powered systems to production with real users
• Strong engineering fundamentals; own services, data flows, and integrations end to end
• Experience building with LLM APIs
• Consider failure modes, observability, and ownership beyond demos
• Bias toward action; remove bottlenecks and unlock workflows
• Comfort with ambiguity and fast change; help define evolving patterns
