Associate Counsel, Litigation

📋 Description

• Hands-on management of diverse litigation, pre-litigation disputes, and IP/tort matters.
• Proactively handle discovery, motions, witness prep, settlements, and appeals.
• Advise internal partners on litigation and regulatory matters applying laws to Lyft products.
• Provide strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams on trust and safety matters.
• Guide Compliance, Operations, Policy, Communications, Product, and Eng on novel legal challenges.
• Manage outside counsel with staffing, budgeting, and case management aligned to strategy.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from a top-tier law school and state bar membership.
• 4+ years civil litigation at a mid-to-large firm; in-house preferred.
• Experience with complex litigation: class actions, MDLs, consumer, tort, or IP.
• Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, judgment, and communication.
• Detail oriented yet able to see the big picture.
• Executive presence; ability to communicate risks to senior leaders.
