Associate Director, Process Chemistry (External Manufacturing)

📋 Description

• Lead external manufacturing strategy for small molecules and related assets.
• Manage CMC planning, budgets, and phase-gate governance.
• Guide CROs/CDMOs on process development and scale-up.
• Influence cross-functional decisions across asset teams and functions.
• Drive supply risk mitigation and supplier relationship management.
• Represent AbbVie in partnerships and in-licensing activities.

🎯 Requirements

• PhD in Process Chemistry with 8+ yrs pharma/biotech, or MS with 10+ yrs.
• Extensive small molecule process development, cGMP, tech transfer.
• Strong CMC regulatory, quality systems, and process safety knowledge.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and external partners.
• Influence across scientific, operational, and leadership teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically/internationally.
