Backend Engineer, Identity

📋 Description

• Develop the Tailscale product, contributing to open source client code and backends
• Own the product lifecycle, from coding to ideation and decisions
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers and PMs to shape features
• Build identity and access management features
• Develop features for sign-on including SSO, OAuth2, SAML, WebAuthn
• Develop and maintain SCIM capabilities to sync IdP users

🎯 Requirements

• Familiar with OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, SAML; SCIM is a plus
• Experience with distributed systems emphasizing observability, security, scalability
• Go is the primary language; Go experience is a plus
• Experience with one or more SQL databases
• Ability to give and process constructive feedback; work independently
• Flexibility to adapt to startup pace
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with networks (IP addressing, routing) is a plus
