Background Artist

📋 Description

• Create high-quality 2D background designs and paintings that align with the show's established
• Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Episodic Directors, and production team to develop
• Translate storyboard layouts, design references, and creative briefs into polished
• Establish and maintain consistent color palettes, lighting, perspective, and environmental details
• Bring personality, humor, and charm to environments through thoughtful design choices and
• Create backgrounds that complement character performances and action without overwhelming the scene.

🎯 Requirements

• Previous professional experience as a Background Artist, Background Painter, or Environment Artist
• Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent background painting, environmental design, and visual
• Exceptional understanding of color theory, lighting, composition, and perspective.
• Ability to create stylized, expressive environments that support a fun, exaggerated, and
• Strong understanding of shape language, architectural design, spatial relationships, and
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is a must. Bonus for experience in Toon Boom Harmony.
